1. Introduction & purpose
1.1 Our ethical foundation
ZERO 3 CORP. was founded on the principle that technology should include everyone. From our origins as encryption researchers to our current mission of building software for the businesses major platforms left behind, ethics have guided every decision. This policy formalizes the values that have driven our self-funded investment and our commitment to solving problems others deem unprofitable.
1.2 Policy purpose
This Ethics Policy establishes the standards of conduct for all ZERO 3 CORP. team members, contractors, advisors, and partners. It reflects our belief that profitability and social impact are not just compatible, they are most powerful when united.
1.3 Scope
- All employees and executives
- Post-graduate contractors
- Advisory board members
- Development partners and vendors
- Anyone representing ZERO 3 CORP. in any capacity
2. Core ethical principles
2.1 Ethics over expedience
Principle: we build and advise to a clear ethical standard, even when the shortcut would be cheaper or faster. We weigh the long-term impact of our work, refuse to cut corners that put people at risk, and hold ourselves to the same standard we ask of our partners.
2.2 Transparency over opacity
Principle: we operate with radical transparency in our business practices and technology. We clearly explain our data practices, openly share our journey including failures and pivots, provide honest pricing without hidden fees, and communicate plainly, avoiding jargon.
2.3 People over profits
Principle: while building a sustainable business, we prioritize human impact over maximum profit extraction. We maintain affordable pricing even when our position would allow increases, invest in human support alongside AI, create opportunity through our contractor program, and measure success by businesses helped.
2.4 Innovation with responsibility
Principle: we leverage cutting-edge technology responsibly, considering long-term societal impact. We implement post-quantum encryption against future threats, use AI to augment rather than replace people, consider environmental impact in infrastructure decisions, and work to prevent misuse of our technology.
3. Business conduct standards
3.1 Integrity in all dealings
Team members are honest in all communications, honor their commitments, admit mistakes promptly and correct them, and refuse to compromise ethics for business advantage.
3.2 Conflicts of interest
Team members disclose potential conflicts immediately, recuse themselves where conflicts exist, never use company resources for personal gain, and avoid situations that could appear as conflicts to outside observers.
3.3 Fair competition
We compete by winning through innovation and service quality, never disparaging competitors unfairly, respecting intellectual property, and avoiding anti-competitive practices.
3.4 Financial integrity
We maintain accurate and transparent financial reporting, responsible use of company and investor funds, fair compensation practices, and ethical tax compliance across all jurisdictions.
4. Technology ethics
4.1 Privacy by design
We collect the minimal data necessary, implement strong (post-quantum ready) encryption, give users control over their data, and never sell or misuse customer information.
4.2 AI ethics
We clearly indicate when AI is in use, always provide a human override and human support, regularly audit AI systems for unfair bias, and use AI to democratize access rather than gatekeep.
4.3 Security responsibility
We take proactive security measures with regular audits, disclose security issues promptly, invest in security infrastructure ahead of profit, and educate users on security best practices.
4.4 Accessibility standards
Technology must be accessible to all. We meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA, design mobile-first for global accessibility, provide alternative access methods when needed, and continuously improve based on feedback.
5. Social responsibility
5.1 Environmental stewardship
We minimize impact through roughly 70% on-premises infrastructure to reduce our carbon footprint, energy-efficient GPU architecture, remote-first operations, and a commitment to carbon neutrality by 2030.
5.2 Community investment
We provide free-tier access to qualifying nonprofits, offer educational resources at no charge, support local tech education, and maintain transparent impact reporting.
5.3 Economic inclusion
We serve businesses abandoned by the platform economy, create employment through contractor programs, build technology that does not require technical expertise, and keep profits within the communities we serve.
6. Workplace ethics
Every team member deserves a harassment-free environment, equal opportunity regardless of background, fair treatment and compensation, and recognition for their contributions. We actively promote diverse hiring and an inclusive culture, support professional development through learning and mentorship, and protect work-life balance through flexible arrangements and a focus on wellbeing.
7. Stakeholder relationships
We serve customers with honest product representations and prompt responses, never exploiting vulnerabilities. We work with partners who share our values and treat their people fairly. Though self-funded, we commit to transparent communication and impact reporting with any future investors, and we engage communities through active listening and contribution to open-source initiatives.
8. Ethical decision-making framework
When facing an ethical dilemma, we ask:
- Is it legal? Does it comply with all applicable laws and regulations?
- Is it ethical? Does it align with our core principles and values?
- Is it inclusive? Does it consider all stakeholders, especially the vulnerable?
- Is it transparent? Would we be comfortable if this decision were public?
- Is it sustainable? Does it consider long-term consequences?
- Is it necessary? Is there a more ethical alternative?
If any answer is no, we reconsider the action.
9. Reporting and accountability
Ethical concerns can be raised through direct discussion with management, our anonymous ethics line at security@zero3.ca, written reports to the Board Chairman, or a third-party ethics reporting service. ZERO 3 CORP. strictly prohibits retaliation against anyone who reports a concern in good faith, participates in an investigation, refuses unethical behavior, or advocates for ethical practices. All reports are investigated promptly, handled confidentially to the extent possible, resolved fairly, and documented for continuous improvement. Violations may result in additional training, formal warnings, suspension or termination, or legal action where appropriate.
10. Continuous improvement
This policy is reviewed annually, after any significant ethical incident, when laws change, and based on stakeholder feedback. All team members receive initial ethics orientation, annual refreshers, and role-specific guidance. We track our ethical performance through businesses served in underserved communities, diversity metrics, environmental measurements, customer trust scores, and ethics incident tracking.
11. Leadership commitment
As Chairman, I personally commit to upholding these standards and leading by example. Ethics are not just policies, they are the foundation of why ZERO 3 CORP. exists. We are proving that doing good and doing well are not mutually exclusive. Every line of code we write, every business we serve, and every decision we make should reflect these values.
Adam Partyka
Board Chairman, ZERO 3 CORP.
